Jesus said,   “You faithless and corrupt people! How long must I be with you and put up with you?”  

This really hit me today.  Especially  the faithless and corrupt part.  I wondered who Jesus was talking to and does this apply to me?  There was a crowd that included his disciples and then there were others who had been listening to Him.  Watching and waiting to see what He would do next.  Maybe even some religious leader were there also?  

While I don’t know exactly who was faithless or what the corruption was, I can still look in the mirror and ask myself if that accusation finds a bullseye in my life?  Faithless yes…. But I am working on that.  

Corruption?  That will take more digging.  It’s a real interesting verse because it’s right smack dab in the middle of the story of Jesus healing a boy with an evil spirit.  Something that Jesus says to do takes “fasting and prayer”.  Not just any kind of healing I guess.  I wondered if there was a connection there?  

A connection between this faithless, corrupt people and evil overtaking someone?  When we don’t stop evil in our own lives, how then are we able to stop evil in this world? If we don’t stand in the gap against that evil, does it not grow?  And maybe the growth doesn’t overtake us, but someone else?  And if that’s so…. Do we even care?  Or do we look at them as the problem?
